Much of this month is about money, where to get it how to keep it and how to share it. Money and what you value will be under scrutiny, some will be rehashing budgets, and thinking (or re-thinking) about new sources of income. Keep an eye on your spending all month and try and refrain from splashing out on big-ticket items.

Khalill Gibran said “Desire is half of life; indifference is half of death” so your present desire to see something materialize ($?) is a good thing and desire is the starting point of all achievement.

You want or desire something to happen (job offer, phone call from the ex…?) - or someone to do something in particular. There is a sense of deficit; either of money or affection and you feel undervalued. You’re also evaluating if your partner ‘completes’ you, as planetary influences will give you the impression that your relationship is lacking emotional and/or financial support. Meanwhile you’re playing the waiting game but you’re not convinced it’s ever going to be forthcoming. To add confusion to the mix whilst Venus is retrograding until 18th past lovers come back into the picture or you are dealing with “issues” from the past. What happens over the next 30 days will feel fated as if destiny is playing a hand. There may even be some aspects of karma to deal with also.

All month long it will be harder to communicate what you’re really feeling even to your partner so just wait the month out until you can get back to your usual expressive Libran self.

By now you’ll be feeling the effects of Saturn. Thankfully it only comes around every 30 years but that’s little consolation when it’s in YOUR sign.

But hard going as it can feel, the up side is that this is a sensational time to really make a name for yourself IF you work like a dog and whatever is started now - project, job…will bear fruit in big way by the end of these two years. Sadly the “go with the flow” days are over….if they are not, you will see yourself on welfare before you know it.

So you may as well get used to feeling serious, somber and frankly “grown up” no matter what your age as you will never again go back to being quite as flippant or carefree as you were before this transit.

If you are of an age where you remember 30 years ago, whatever happened then will “revisit” in some form, probably in your psyche. I can guarantee you will be doing a hell of a lot more reflecting and contemplating about “where you are in life”. If you did the psychical spring cleaning last month, you’re already on the road, if not you’re going to be awash with emotions and even be feeling a tad depressed.

Try and get on top of the emotional reflection as you really need to use this time to concentrate on your finances - the sooner you start the better. Your security, long term, is what this is all about and the better you position yourself early in the show, the better the outcome for the rest of your life. Get to it!

The theme of this month is psychical spring cleaning. It’s the type that purges the very depths of your psyche and probes all those hidden and sore sports that you don’t want the world to see or know about. Everyone has something they would like to keep private, some have skeletons in the closet that they live in abject fear will become public. It’s an uncomfortable process to spring clean the raw stuff but you have to let go of the outdated fears that are holding you back and take a good long look at yourself, warts and all. What is your burden, your guilt? What baggage are you carrying around? There is nothing to fear but fear itself in this process and by not doing it will only undermine your happiness and continue affecting your health.

It’s high time to stop looking after everyone else so well and start looking after yourself. You are quite fragile and you must allow yourself to acknowledge that. For the next few years, beginning now you have to assess your family set ups and the relationships that you’ve had to date and in your past. What were the common themes, were they functional or flawed. Who holds the power in your relationships, are you the martyr or the control freak. What worked (or more likely didn’t work) in the past certainly won’t work now, you must find new ways of relating and what you find acceptable in a relationship.

It doesn’t matter if you are 20 or 60 years, the Cosmos has deemed that this is the right time for this undertaking. It’s never a fun process but it will be hugely relieving when you do.

If you look back say a decade ago (if this is age appropriate) your career seemed fairly straightforward and problem free. Well that’s certainly not been the case for the past couple of years has it? Changeability, instability or at the very least an aura of uncertainty and sometimes a degree of discomfort. It’s likely that you have had to make concessions in various areas, i.e. relocate, perhaps accepting a lesser role than you are capable of and a sense of singing for your supper.

Through it all you’ve also felt quite disconnected from the world, especially in the past few months. You are a really social animal at the best of times and you have gone through a fairly extended passage of “quiet” times on the social front and generally had a sense of being overlooked. Well whatever it is that has you “fired” you are swinging back into the spotlight with aplomb and you will thoroughly enjoy the climate change. Relationships are highlighted and if you have a partner you will be really enjoying the warmth of your connection after a period of distance between you. If you are single/newly hooked up expect amorous unions and romantic times.

People will be drawn to you like a moth to a flame which in turn will draw you out and about. Expect a lot of invitations and outings this month. At the same time you will still have moments where you slip back mentally and emotionally into the vortex where you have been dwelling for the past few months but I urge you to snap yourself out of this mood if you feel it descend upon you. This really is a good time to push forward with what you want to achieve and your aims and goals I feel are more centered around your relationships and family life as opposed to your career right now.

Early and mid month may bring to a head some simmering issues but you have the emotional fortitude to circumvent any direct damage to yourself. By this I mean shore up your personal finances if you need to protect them long term.

You may find your partner or family member has amazing news and makes you incredibly proud or this news may relate to a health issue (particularly in the case of the former) which could alternatively concern you. Family and relationships are the plat du jour for all of August and essentially what transpires now will be the modus operandi for the next two years.

The force is with you for the next six weeks if you need to effect any positive changes both in your private life and professionally as well as you will find receptivity to your ideas.

This should be a good if not a great and expansive month with a fair quota of fun thrown in by way of new (and old faces) and lots of socializing. If you’re in business, employed, or on contract - whatever role you play - you will receive “more” or get a wider understanding of your field (which in time will make you more) and this part of your life is really on fire.

In fact you can expand, thrust forward, ask for more – generally push the envelope - and you will receive whatever you want really. It’s that simple.

You have a far greater insight into people; your colleagues, those you work for, lovers, friends and this knowledge and understanding of where people are coming from will take you places. Its an exciting time but a variable passage best handled if you are prepared to just “go with the flow” and see where it takes you (with the exception above in business where you can ask for more).

Your emotional life is not what you’d term completely established – even if you’ve been together for years – there is still an evolution taking place. If it’s a new one (and there could be pre-destined encounters this month - there is no such thing as co-incidence), this applies also and there will be the right kind of “action” to really put a smile on your face - even if you don’t know where the relationship is going!

If you have more of a thirst for life than usual which I suspect you do now, it may not be due to any one relationship but rather perhaps that you have finally come to terms with the fact that you don’t need another to make you happy, you are responsible for your own happiness and someone else sharing that is just a bonus.

This is a paradigm shift in thinking for a Libran. This thinking may prepare you for the entry later in the month of Saturn at which time you will not be able to postpone any longer taking a stand on some of the pending difficulties or deal with unanswered questions.

I have Libran friends and clients (many of whom have had such a roller coaster love life that they have chosen to spend their dotage with a budgie) ask me what their relationship future will hold and I tell them it’s nearly impossible to call.

My stock answer: “be prepared for blast off”. Among the many features of the next few years: on-off love relationships, elopements and love at first sight, unexpected unions and abrupt separations. Single Librans should enjoy an overabundance of short (but profound) affairs and both happy and sad connections - but it will an exhilarating time all the same.

Irrespective of whether you are young, old, single or married or have a significant other you will not be exempt from this process. There is a two-edged Cosmic sword (arrow?) that has set the stage for flings, and romantic thrills and spills. You lover of three weeks could drop to his knees and propose or your partner of umpteen decades could say au revoir.

If it’s along the lines of the latter, the good news is I don’t see any real heartache for you so any relationships that end had run their course and well and truly used up their use-by date. In fact it is you who will be seeking freedom and calling most of the shots.

The forces are building so there is really no escaping this action and if its marriage or serious committed partnerships that you want, it is in the stars for many of you.

Another sign that is keen to get away from it all! Well you are an air sign and need to feel free and independent. Go book the trip if you can, have some new experiences.

In fact I urge you to get away as staying on the ground could be tenuous. There is every indication of conflict in your love life and all relationships are under a cloud.

In fact it’s a mucky month in this regard with ex lovers and people from your past giving you grief and opposing family groups at war - with you in the middle trying to juggle everything and create harmony. Not possible.

You will be driven to distraction at best and are likely to say something that you may regret – well you were just communicating how you really felt!

Perhaps you need to rethink the whole relationship thing. Yes, it’s nice to have someone to cuddle up to but perhaps you need to figure out what works for you rather than trying to slavishly follow society’s norms –whatever that is. There will be change in your interpersonal relationships. There is no reason that this can’t be positive change in that you change the structure of the relationship to suit you.

After all this time and a few romances under the belt, you are not exactly the same person as you used to be with the same outlook on the romance thing….no, you are much clearer on what you need and the set up you require.

If you have disagreement on this, and any of the issues that impact on relationships – money, children, property, shared responsibilities, future goals, ex’s etc - you will be unwavering and be prepared to call it time out, if not quits.

Chances are you have systematically been making changes and you will either have a different partner, job or residence than you did this time last year. For those of you who haven’t as yet watch this space as you will be the one to make those changes now and there will be more on the way for all Librans.

Usually in relationships after a while you get just a little bit bored with the setup which is not to say all Librans divorce (but they ARE up there in the divorce stats) but all Librans do feel a bit lackluster from time to time with their committed relationships.

It’s only holding you back from embracing all the opportunities that lie ahead which will encompass some far-reaching changes in your personal domain.

That said, I do feel there will be a significant discussion before the month is out relating to finances – not necessarily relating to your partner – but certainly regarding a business, new income source or property arrangement.

With a load of planets currently in your work zone, I suspect it’s the latter. Great achievements were never accomplished overnight, for example the Sydney Opera house took decades to build but remains a testament to persistence, struggle and enormous effort.
