You’re the zodiac’s irrepressible, eternal optimist so no matter what goes bottom up in your life, you just keep on smiling and a Sagittarius must have written the phrase “Hope springs eternal”. There is a lot riding on something - a long pending issue that looks like it’s coming to a head in November or early December – and yet you remain optimistic despite appearances to the contrary signaling a difficult time.

Thank god that you’ve got Mercury on side from the 8th giving your communication skills more grunt and you’ll be having loads of discussions nearly all month, especially with your siblings but also neighbors (problems on the block?). You’ll certainly be selling yourself, your needs and your “cause” and definitely furthering your interests but don’t forget to take stock to judge as to whether or not you’re hitting homeruns and making an impact.

At the same time you’ll be going right back to grass roots and looking at your life from bottom up as opposed to top down and this will require a fair bit of D&M soul searching. If you’ve been behaving reasonably all this won’t be too uncomfortable, but of course if you’re erred a bit, then this will help put you back on the right track. As I had on my home page last week “The difference between school and life? In school, you're taught a lesson and then given a test. In life, you're given a test that teaches you a lesson” which pretty much sums up some of your more awkward times of late.

Don’t let the trials and tribulations of life knock the stuffing out of you. Nothing stays the same and life is a constant so just learn to adapt and go with the flow. “If you could turn back time…” but of course you can’t. The here is the now, so you’ve got to learn to see both sides of the coin and as I said to Taurus “know when to hold and when to fold”.

It’s a defining month for you and one that will require you to have the right mindset. If you don’t see the winds of change and fail to get a handle on what’s really going down, you may be left wanting (or in the dust!). You will be “on show” and under the spotlight – just like the rabbit in the shooters sight – so effective and open communication is everything.

After a less than stellar year at the end of this month (your birthday time!) everything will begin to look up quite significantly. You will be at the forefront of Cosmic goodies being handed out and nearly all will defer to your wishes which is quite a turnaround from say the start of this year (if not way before!).

In fact from the end of this month onwards, you will enjoy the freedom, fun and romance that flow your way for the next couple of years. You will no longer feel doubtful, fearful or unsure – quite the opposite in fact, try “assertive and self assured” – on all fronts.

That said there are still those Sags who have been less than honorable at various times in 2010 and in the preceding years and playing Peter off against Paul. Inevitably as happens, Paul starts to speak to Peter and….well, both Peter AND Paul start to really question your motives.

When that happens it’s a bit hard to get P&P back on side again and trusting you and if you need their buy-in for your own gain then you’re in a more difficult space. This month, consider all that has “gone down” during 2010 and what role you (may) have had in the outcomes. Once you’ve considered that, it makes your next steps quite easy to take and what has to be done quite obvious.

October IS your get-out-of-jail-free card if (and only if) you know how the play the game.

In six weeks time Saturn has finished its ride in your 10th house which finally brings you some closure. Do you start the reevaluation process now or wait for the closure. You’ve been challenged to build a secure foundation in your most public life, how the world sees you and your reputation. Some of you have passed with flying colors and are receiving the due respect, recognition and accolades whilst others are trying to retrieve something from the ashes.

If you have been Humpty Dumpty you are facing some big challenges ahead in terms of self esteem and public perceptions. Your career and finances will need your total focus and many Sags are fed up to their back teeth with a chaotic working life and struggling to survive and your infamous luck seems to have been very thin on the ground of late.

Unfortunately you have a replay of past events in September which will test your resolve but also give you a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate what you’ve learnt over the past couple of years. It does have a sense of déjà vu and there is a connection to the ongoing property issue (either yours or someone else’s), your siblings, family or relatives – all of the stuff that I’ve been writing about for months.

Maintain your dignity and show them what you’re really made of. You have been harshly judged and in that light your enthusiasm and faith has been sorely tested. If you can look in the mirror and hold your head high then ride the wave of ignorance and hold yourself proud.

You have so many philosophical arguments to sort out behind the scenes haven’t you though very few except perhaps your nearest and dearest have any idea the internal machinations that are roiling inside. August is a pivotal month in this regard as it brings to a head all the issues that have been simmering all year and asks you this time around to intellectualize or emotionally resolve the festering wounds.

It will call on every ounce of your carefree and optimistic demeanor to stay balanced and not descend into doubt and regrets. You’ve managed to skip through life for a very long time and remain unscathed but there comes a time when you have to settle on a philosophical stance on something, and that time is now.

This reckoning is probably imposed on you through circumstances, family and/or financial – the one I’ve been writing about for months. You’ve reached a point where conventions have to be officially adhered to – there is a bureaucratic element to the resolution.

That fixes the tangible side of the problem – now the onus is on you to solve the mental and emotional part of the equation. This is a long standing issue and I believe what is blocking your individual progress in this regards is your personal belief system relating to money. Unless you manage to get a handle on what is perhaps an ingrained philosophy - but clearly an erroneous one (or one that no longer is relevant) then you will not be able released from your chains.

How you approach money, what you feel you and others are worth (or not worth) and how much you are willing to compromise, let go of (or essentially play fair) is at the very centre of this issue. The tangible side will be fixed, that’s essentially out of your hands now, it’s the ingrained belief system that has been at the forefront that must be addressed by you and only you that will assist you to move on with your life and feel at peace.

It is almost unheard of that a Sag could have doubts, negativity or not feel confident and optimistic all together and for more than a nano second. This is one of those rare periods and the circumstances that I have been alluding to in my posts for a number of weeks will start to bite and will test your resolve, discipline and self restraint.

What started out as an objective to improve and expand on your life (and seemed such a simple exercise) has served to curtail your ability to move forward and has brought about a termination or stalemate of sorts.

There is a balance of power between certain individuals (including yourself) that is awry and the only way forward from this static situation is for you to amend your position or change how you view it. This “group” dynamic requires kid gloves handling, insight and honesty and it will really test you to compromise. What in essence you are doing is offering the true hand of fellowship and cooperation and only then can you hope to put this matter behind you and embrace all the fabulous opportunities that await you.

This transit can provide the opportunity for real growth for you, you had no idea (nor did others) that you had it in you! There is no requirement to feel remorse or regret, the decisions made much earlier seemed appropriate at the time and although you have had a change of heart now, what was done then can be changed now and put right.

You have come to the realization that you don’t want to be weighed down by this issue for much longer and want to return to your natural carefree state and any decision made this month along these lines will serve to release you. If you continue to carry around the uneasiness you are blocking yourself from performing at an optimum level. If you finally admit and recognize your shortcomings in this matter and resolve it, by next month it will already seem long gone!

In a few weeks Saturn will enter your 11th house (more of this shortly in another posting) which is where your personal goals will come under scrutiny and how your peers regard you so be cautious of providing them with any ammunition.

A noted British psychiatrist (Laing) who sadly is no longer with us wrote “Insanity is a perfectly rational adjustment to an insane world.” You are merely catching up to the world in which you live – or at least that’s a good rationale don’t you think?

On the one hand you have commitments - family, work and life as you know it. On the other end of the scale you have a compulsion to break free and live the life you’ve always dreamed of.

It’s not like you haven’t been a perfectly good specimen of dedication and loyalty and an upstanding member of your group. You have. In fact you are probably one of the pillars of society – or your social club. But you are being pulled by this great invisible magnet towards pursuing all the fun things in life you’ve always wanted to which means heading on an entirely different course to the one you are on now.

No matter what your “thing” is – you only hope that the creative and intellectual pursuits that you hanker after marry with those in your immediate circle or else there could be some friction. How do you change your professional and personal horizons (literally or figuratively) without disruption? You can leave a Dear John or Dear Jill letter….which is not quite your style….but then what is your style now? It’s an evolving feast. No matter where you are in life you will be throwing yourself into something that makes you happy without pausing for the support or otherwise of others.

This are interesting and exciting times (and necessarily explosive in parts) but it won’t be dull! What I haven’t addressed here is that ongoing and underlying financial issue…..towards the end of the month could see a startling development but please be conscious (or beware?) of unconsidered choices.

You are a freedom loving sign. All the recent restrictive crap (family or bureaucratic issues?) that you’ve had to endure, the limitations and the sense of red tap and rules and regulations are more than you can stomach. Enough already!

You waited patiently (yes you did!) for things to fall into place but it hasn’t happened yet and frustration is kicking in. I could say “stay the course” until then but you won’t listen. It might not be overly consoling to know that in about 6 weeks time things will improve and the impetus you receive then will be on par with how you were feeling about this issue two years ago (e.g. better). [A note of caution: for a better resolution make sure you pay attention to your interactions with others, as key figures will not warm to hearing the truth or your account of it.]

One, you very likely to change your career path dramatically – it will be something entirely different to the way you are earning a living now. This will help you move on to a better situation - a more exciting job or place and open up entirely new vistas. Perhaps an opportunity to travel or further education will be a result.

Two, all Sags will be literally or figuratively skipping through fields of daisy’s – well they would if they could - all because you are going through a devolution. You are in a passage of devolving back to carefree years when you did everything with gay abandon. Free love, inspiration, artistic, irresponsible, wild, carefree…these are some of the adjectives that come to mind to describe your current mental and emotional state.

If you’re of “certain age” you’ll be putting your hand up to star in the Calendar Girls (or boys) and your offspring will become a renewed source of unbridled joy. You need to have a zest for life and a sense of really living and being fulfilled or at the very least you need something to look forward to and the knowledge that there is an adventure to be had.

There is one particular issue or a decision that you must make that continues to take precedence over everything else. It’s definitely connected to your family and also impacts on how you see yourself in the bigger world and its pointless deferring it as it won’t be going away. Frustrating as the past few months have been, once you embrace the fact that you have to draw a line in the sand and radically alter one particular course of action, you won’t believe how quickly you will feel unburdened and free again.

How you deal with it will affect others also and this is what has made you pause for so long but now that sufficient consideration has been given to the issue as you weighed up outcomes you realize that you really have little choice in the final wash up.

You may have to appear quite hardhearted when push comes to shove and it may involve a family member feeling quite put out or peeved by the path you take, notwithstanding that there may also be quite literally be a bureaucratic element that forces your hand.

It always hard when it’s family vs finances, your loyalties are definitely torn, but “courage” all will be well because at the end of the day, it’s not so much a case of the best alternative available to you; more a situation of Sag’s phenomenal luck that will bail you out every time.

What constitutes real security? For some it is a roof over their head, for others someone who loves them, and for the remainder simply a burglary proof door would do the trick.

All Sagittarians view life as an escapade - an adventurous quest and journey of discovery crammed with exciting activities, lots of travelling and grand plans.

A few Sags however are feeling like the rug could be pulled from under their feet at any moment. So what is the answer? You can’t barricade yourself in and never go out, nor can you undo any mistakes in the past that have made you vulnerable to a takeover - or whatever it is that you currently fear.

For the past few months you have begun to doubt whether you will ever achieve all your aspirations but I’m happy to tell you this is only a passing phase and before too long there will be a return to the “good old days” which in truth you are feeling a bit nostalgic about.

The past was good, but it’s just that the past and you can’t revisit it now other than in memories. Life is a dynamic and ever changing but no matter how difficult things may be feeling at the moment it’s designed to provide you with an opportunity to evolve, develop your belief systems and change for the better. Is there a disparity between your viewpoint and others that perhaps needs tweaking?

There is some tension at home so seek out enjoyable activities with friends and associates until this passes. Whilst you feel driven to fight for justice, accord is not only the preferred way forward it is the only way.

Remember that if you’ve been good, Pluto rewards and if you’ve been bad, Pluto will destroy. It can increase your money and personal assets and this will certainly be your goal throughout this period. However there are hidden issues in your psyche relating to financial security and you have an deep seated fear (perhaps irrational) that everything you own will somehow, one day be taken away from you. Because of this you have made money the driving force and main focus in your life.

You tend to squirrel away as much money as you can, refusing to part with any of it unless you have to, and sometimes to the point of unfairness and even cheapness. Because of this Pluto may teach you a lesson at some time during the next 16 years that will be akin to an earthquake equivalent to Level 9 on the Richter scale. It will rock your foundations to the core and your belief in yourself and the world around you but through this, it will teach you to place less emphasis on material things and more on accumulating true wealth - that which is intangible and relates to the spirit. True richness has nothing to do with money. So get ready to throw away the Rose tinted glasses, the reality check is on its way.. but being a Sag you will salvage your good humour from the carnage.
